Today, our up-to-the-century coverage of the Democratic National Convention (of 1912), focuses on its delegates, with cartoons from the August 1912 issue of Cartoons Magazine.

Like the Republicans, Democratic delegates went into the Convention, without a clear winner for the nomination. In A Baltimore Moving Picture Film (the 1912 Convention was held in Baltimore; sequential comic strips at this time were occasionally referred to as “moving pictures”), cartoonist Ole May shows a Democratic Delegate on his way to the Convention, being accosted by various people, wanting to know who is going to be nominated.
