Choo-Choo Re-Do
A bunch of people wrote to ask if I’d reprint more Fallberg cartoons. I even got a phone call. Geez, people love Disney stuff. Here’s a bunch more. Choo-choo, woo-woo!

Mickey’s Engine-earsWhat is it about Disney and his cronies and trains? Walt had a miniature train ride in his backyard that was reportedly the inspiration for Disneyland. Ward Kimball, when I visited him, always showed me his incredible TOY train collection and his LIFESIZE backyard train and track and station collection. Ward even did a self portrait of himself as a train engineer for the intro that he wrote to my book Weird But True Toon Factoids. I’ve just discovered another Disney train man, Carl Fallberg. Fallberg worked on Snow White, Fantasia and Bambi. And Carl wrote the GR8 Mickey Mouse serials in the backs of the comic book Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories that were illustrated by Paul Murry. A number of those stories prominently featured trains as I recall. Yes, Fallberg was also a train nut and even created his own fictional train line in these delightful cartoons for Railroad Magazine. The cartoons were collected in a 1960 book Fiddletown and Copperopolis. I’ve posted some for your enjoyment. Let me know if you want to see more. All aboard!

It’s Wacky Wonder Woman Wednesday!I promised I was going to get away from Wacky Wonder Woman/Silly Super Girl pics-at least for a while I’m giving it a rest. So how about Wonder Woman and the Simpson’s Duff Man at Mardi Gras? Forget Duff man, her costume looks pretty good, right? ![]() Looks good until you see a rear view that shows that the costume is really pretty lousy-it’s way too small! And where did this dude with the tacky yellow t-shirt come from, is that Tom Heintjes?-everybody’s trying to get into the act! ![]() ![]() — C. Yoe (in the funny papers) Tuesday, September 25, 2025
Clean Cartoonists’ Dirty Drawings Book + WebsiteAt last! I just got my advance copies of “Clean Cartoonists’ Dirty Drawings”, my new book! The printer did a beautiful job! The only problem is, from all indications, we may not have printed enough, so if you don’t want to be disappointed I’d suggest ordering here right away. You can get it soft or hard, depending on your preference. The Limited Edition hard cover has 16 more dirty drawings than the paperback by 16 of the clean cartoonists. And it’s gonna have a bookplate by the brilliant Dean Yeagle (Dean did the beautiful dustjacket). I’ll have ordering info on the Limited Edition soon-there’s just 300 copies of that, again probably not enough for the demand). And check out the website that I just launched to promote the book here (NSFW). There’s lots of sneak preview pics! Playboy magazine is doing a feature on the book and I’m in talks with a way cool museum to do a show based on it. A number of bookstores and comic books stores want signings and I’m fielding inquiries from conventions to do talks on Clean Cartoonists Dirty Drawings. I guess sex sells. I just wish we had printed more copies… ![]() ![]() ![]() — C. Yoe (in the funny papers) Tuesday, September 25, 2025

D. J. David B. Spins Comics-Tunes: Wonder Woman![]() It’s Tuesday but it feels like a Wednesday. It must be because we’ve got a Weird, Wacky Wonder Woman for our Comics Tunes Tuesday this week! This song (which probably has nothing to do with Wonder Woman, the Amazon Princess) comes to us courtesy of the eminently capable R&B singer Lee Dorsey (“Ride Your Pony”) and legendary N’awlins songwriter Allen Toussaint. Recorded in 1968, by which time the Batman TV show craze had faded out, so there’s no excuse.
I hate to steal the thunder away from Doll Man Monday, but I have to ask: Is this Wonder Woman comic book cover a bit suggestive, or is it just me? ![]() — C. Yoe (in the funny papers) |
