Now, let me be blunt, here’s a follow up on the Popeye/Pothead Post: R. Klarer on the Comics Journal message board turned me onto these funny cigarettes featuring the One-eyed Sailor. And my pal Thierry Smolderen on the Platinum Yahoo group sez he remembers seeing a letter from Popeye’s creator Elzie Segar seeming to thank George Herriman for sending some weed for some wedding festivities. Thierry thought maybe it was in the Abrahms Herriman bio. Can anybody hook us up with more info on that?
