WOMEN IN REFRIGERATORS is a site set up some time ago by comics writer Gail Simone (THE SIMPSONS, BIRDS OF PREY) which puts the fate of women in comics into a historical perspective. An informed appreciation of the masterful brushwork of ON STAGE artist Leonard Starr can be found at ILLUSTRATION ART. Starr’s long-running soap/adventure strip is currently being reprinted. He would go on to change his style completely in the revived ANNIE strip.
