This Day in Arf History: Birth of Rudolph Topffer

On this day in 1799, Swiss artist and author Rudolph Topffer was born. He is considered by many to be the first modern comic creator. His first “comic” was a story illustrated with a series of pictures - duh! Why hadn’t anyone thought of that before? Anyhow, it’s a good thing Topffer did, as he made This Day in Arf History possible. Here’s a page from his first such publication, Histoire de M. Vieux Bois (The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck in English).

I like the way you not only tell the story of Rudolf Topffer, but illustrate it with a picture. What an original idea!
WISE GUY!
