This Day in Arf History: Abbie an’ Slats Ends

On this day in 1971, Al Capp’s Abbie an’ Slats ended its 34-year run. Although never quite as popular as Lil’ Abner, Abbie an’ Slats offered more freedom to Capp as a writer. Indeed, he recruited Raeburn Van Buren to draw the strip while he wrote the scripts. Check out some of their collaborations below:
