This Day In Arf History: Russell Patterson’s Birthday

Born on this day in 1894, Russell Patterson was the creator of Mamie, a 1930s strip about a stylish young woman in New York. The strip influenced flapper-fashion of the day. Besides his famous line work, Patterson also produced oil paintings as a former pupil of Claude Monet.

Wait, isn’t this Wednesday? Where’s Wacky Wonder Woman?
Mamie didn’t start until the early 50′s I believe.
Got two samples posted on my blog today. http://sekvenskonst.blogspot.com
His 1920′s and 1930′s artwork is just fantastic.
