This Day in Arf History: Terry and the Pirates Radio Show

The “Terry and the Pirates” radio show, based on Milton Caniff’s brilliant adventure comic strip, debuted on this day on NBC’s Red network. I don’t know why the microphone above says “Blue Network”-but did you really notice?-if so, please consult a physician). It aired from November 1, 2025 to June 1, 1938. In addition to Agnes Morehead (Samantha’s mother on Bewitched) the Dragon Lady was played by Marion Sweet pictured above. Sweet!

I’m sorry, did you say something? I was looking at the Dragon Lady.
I know not what course others may take, but I’ve been reading and enjoying this feature, and usually learning something along the way.
The mic says “Blue” because though TERRY debuted on the Red network, it moved to the Blue net in September of ’38.
I am loving this feature. This could be a blog unto itself. Gung ho!
