Makin’ Links # 182 Free Comic Book Day Edition

Today, May 1st, is, of course, this year’s annual Free Comic Book Day with lots of freebies designed especially for the event available from most comic book shops in the United States. A number of publishers are also offering freebies through their websites including our own Tom Heintjes with his wonderful Hogan’s Alley! (Go here for details: http://superitch.com/?p=6432 )

Today, though, we prefer to offer you older freebies. You’ll need an easily Googled sequential JPG reader such as CDisplay or Jomic (for Mac) but here are literally thousands of Public Domain comic books for your perusal. Admittedly the majority are not that interesting but there are many, many that are! Westerns, sci-fi, superhero, romance, children’s, horror, humor…pick a genre and I’m sure you can find something to enjoy at the Digital Comic Museum. If you’re like me, though, you’ll find yourself missing that wonderful rotting pulp paper aroma! Sigh…………
