Makin’ Links # 165

Hoppy Easter! Let’s start off today with an absolutely delightful one-off Walt Kelly tale of The Easter Bunny and the Dwarf from a 1947 holiday themed issue of Dell’s prolific Four Color title.

Walt Simonson was one of those young Turk artists who seemed to arrive on the scene back in the seventies fully formed and ready to rumble. Here’s an early, amazingly drawn Batman story from Walt that gives credence to that theory.

Another incredible artist is the prolific Italian comics master, Milo Manara, whose comics, paintings and illustrations don’t even have to be dirty to be amazingly and enticingly erotic as evidenced here in a wonderful (if perhaps NSFW) portfolio today.

And finally, if erotica isn’t your cup of Easter tea, here’s a fairly traditional version of the Easter story from Atlas Comics, who, following in the footsteps of MC Gaines, (with his beloved Picture Stories From the Bible) issued their own Bible Tales For Young Folk in the 1953. GCD speculates the art is by Fred Kida.
