As previously established, I have a strange and abiding fondness for comic book dogs, perhaps because the whole idea of ‘comic book dogs’ seems so entirely counter-intuitive to someone who grew up on a steady diet of superheroes. Which is why I’m presenting Blaze the Wonder Collie #4, a 1949 Marvel comic that ran (as far as I can tell) only two issues, #2 and #3. I also have no idea who wrote or drew it; the Grand Comic Book Database doesn’t hazard a guess and the only credit on it are “Editorial Consultant, Jean Thompson, M.D., psychiatrist “.
