The Art of Holding on to Power…
Not my usual Victorian Age or Hearst Era fare, but, given Mitt Romney’s rapid face-changing/position-altering chameleon abilities, to say whatever he thinks people want to hear, dependent on who’s in the room with him at the moment, (we’d call him two-faced, but that’s really under-estimating how many faces he has)… Anyway, given that, I thought this little gem from the Counter-Culture Revolution, would be appropriate.
By F. Adams, and probably originally published in 1968 given its subject matter of President Lyndon Johnson morphing into new President Richard Nixon, it comes from a 1970 paperback titled Fire! Reports from the Underground Press, which reprinted sampling of both articles & comics which were appearing in student underground newspapers of the day. The book, however, wasn’t very good at citing where each piece originally appeared, so, I can’t tell you precisely where/when it was published.
