D. J. David B. Spins Comics-Tunes: Comics Tunes Defined

In case you just tuned in, allow me to explain what we’re doing here and why. Okay?

Every Tuesday (unless there’s a power outage), I, D.J. David B., share with the loyal I.T.C.H. readers a piece of musical entertainment that I think you will enjoy. These are songs that mention comic book, comic strip, or animated cartoon characters. Or even a recording by a comics artist. This is where record collecting and comic collecting come together. We call this nexus of records and comics “Comics-Tunes.”

So, on any given Tuesday you might hear the hit theme from the Batman TV show, a rare recording of the Barney Google song, a rockin’ tune about Spider-Man or Squiddly Diddly, a record by or about Blondie, or the opening theme to Wally Gator. Sound good?

This Tuesday I’m proud to present a medley of several superhero songs that more or less defines what I do here every week. And given that Halloween is only six and a half months away, I’ve decided to illustrate this song with pictures of fans in superhero costumes. If you’re wondering why I chose a woman dressed as Spider-Man instead of a man, you’ve never seen an overweight fan-boy in Spandex. ‘Nuff said?

Click the link below to enjoy the ultimate superhero medley.

    Nope. I wasn’t wondering. ;)

I’m wondering if you have a name for the Lady in Superman costume or have other cosplay of her~

I.T.C.H is looking forward to your thoughts. Please, no flame. Thanks!
