Makin’ Links # 76

I told you the Christmas stories would start coming quickly now. With its new holiday banner, MAGIC CARPET BURN, for example, presents John Stanley’s cute tale, “SANTA’S RETURN TRIP” from Dell’s SANTA CLAUS FUNNIES.

THE GREATEST APE is a blog I’ve just discovered that reprints Golden Age humor stories. This most recent example shows Dan Gordon’s SUPER KATT but check back through the blog for Bob Bolling, Sheldon Mayer, Dick Briefer, Al Wiseman, Walt Kelly, John Stanley (yep, him again) and more!

A similar blog is, of course, THE BIG BLOG OF KIDS’ COMICS which here plays a long and fun ANDY PANDA story by-wait for it-John Stanley from 1948.

Now let’s darken up all this levity a bit with not one but two sequential Jack Cole MIDNIGHT stories from 1942 issues of SMASH COMICS. Okay, fine, in spite of the name they still aren’t THAT dark. I doubt that John Stanley had anything to do with them though.
