Happy Accident to Happy Trails!

Ding’s cartoon commemorating the death of Teddy Roosevelt was almost never published! Ding drew it, then threw it away. But it was retrieved to meet the deadline. This almost rejected cartoon became Ding’s most popular cartoon ever!

    There seem to be a lot of Teddy Roosevelt cartoons here lately. What about FDR? What is he, chopped liver?

    It seems a little unfinished, in comparison to editorial cartooning of that day, but it’s still a great drawing.
