Madftrn Lowrpks # 396

Both Mr Door Tree and myself are big fans of Jeffrey Catherine Jones-the difference being that he has here assembled a marvelous mix of paintings and art from one of Jones’ best periods….and all I’m doing is linking to it.

But enough serious stuff, It’s April Fool’s Day so…DC’s Plop! was a truly odd mix of horror and humor but it gave a regular outlet to Aragones, Wolverton and later Wood-and this first issue featured Wrightson-so it was a good thing!

Absolutely nothing (except maybe Go-Go checks) says nostalgia to me more than Marvel’s (Marble’s?) Not Brand Echh, their Marvel Age Mad rip-off that would prove to be Marie Severin’s best vehicle as a humor artist!

Finally today, over at the Magic Whistle we find Mirthful Marie Severin again with the last of 3 parts from Marvel’s later Spoof # 3.
