My favorite 7-Up commercial had a strange light bulb with a twitching filament and an electrified version of the “7-Up, the Uncola” song. I hadn’t yet smoked a single banana. I don’t know what I would think of that commercial today.
There was a whole campaign of 7-Up advertising that was very psychedelic and Peter Max-y, including print ads as well as TV commercials. I used to have 7-Up posters on my wall as a kid that they offered as premiums back then. It’s interesting that they were positioned as the hip brand and aggressively went after young people. What’s the hip drink today? Snapple? Fruitopia? Jaegermeister?
I remember that!

It seemed cooler when it was new.

this was done by Goldscholl Assoc. out of Chicago, right ?
I remember that commercial-It’s almost more impressive now, realizing it was done without any CGI.

Isn’t this the work of Robert Abel i.e. Abel & Associates…early unsung pioneer of CGI/FX ??
