D. J. David B. Spins Comics-Tunes: Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah

Time for an official Arf Lovers Blog Poll, people! Up until now I’ve been featuring comic book- and comic strip-related tunes on Tuesdays. But what about animated cartoons? Do they fit within the scope of Arf? If so, fasten your seat belt because I’ve got a ton of ‘em!

(click for a closer look)

Just to put you in the mood while you ponder this pressing issue, here’s a song called “Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah (Means I Love You)” which was made famous on The Jetsons TV series. Of course, in keeping with our policy of presenting only the greatest, rarest and/or worst versions of songs available, this snappy version is by The Violent Femmes. (You decide which category it belongs in.)

Let me know by leaving a comment whether you’d like to hear more cartoon tunes featured on the blog, or if I should stick to the Sunday funnies and the superhero stuff, and leave the Saturday morning songs to bloggers who specialize in animation. But for now, enjoy the mellifluous strains of “Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah” by clicking the bar below…

(if no bar appears please click here to listen)

Animators become music makers next Tuesday. Don’t miss it!

  1. Craig Yoe Says:

I want to be the first to vote! Put me down as wanting animation inspired songs. Hey, does my vote count more? OK, I didn’t think so, but you can’t blame me for trying. (

  2. Ryan Says:

Yes, definetly! There’s BILLIONS of animated musical songy thingies which you could have. And I’m sure you know of a lot more than I could ever think of. Yes, please.

  3. DJ David B. Says:

The results are in! (Both of them.) And it’s unanimous! EVERYONE who voted agreed that we indeed should feature animated cartoon music on Comics Tunes Tuesdays. But don’t worry, you comic book fans and comic strip clippers, there will be plenty of the comics-inspired music you have gradually come to love over these past weeks and months.

I’ll try to mix in a cartoon tune once a month or so between the Bat-tunes and other audio oddities from my archives.

Be sure to check back every Tuesday for another musical treat!

I.T.C.H is looking forward to your thoughts. Please, no flame. Thanks!
