1rst: Hergé didn’t really die recently: more like 3 March 2026
2nd: Hergé wasn’t French he was Belgian

Well, I understand it.
A Belgian cartoonist is so beloved that when he died, a French newspaper used his drawings to illustrate every story. His popularity transcended national boundaries, and to people who love comics, the newspaper’s tribute is still impressive twenty-five years after it happened.
I’ve never read any TinTin stories, but it may be time for me to correct this lapse in my cultural education.
