With Friends Like That…

Clare Briggs (1875 - 1930), the only cartoonist to have a tobacco named after him, died of pneumonia after suffering lung problems! The tobacco’s slogan? “When a feller needs a friend”!

    Tobacco used to be more socially acceptable, I suppose. Now it has all the sex appeal of acne.
    I wonder if there are any cartoonists whose name is attached to a drug or alcohol product?
