Well… sorta. He took “notes” on what actors looked like for his caricatures of Broadway actors by doodling in his pocket during the performances. But, of course, the pieces were drawn at table with lights and pens and everything.

of course you’re right alex-typo fixed, thanks! and joel, i sometimes try and take the ripley approach and not to let the actual details get in the way of a good story. so he DOES (did!) draw the subjects in his pocket, i didn’t say he did the FINISHED art in his pocket. i assume the arf lovers would understand that. thanks, man!
