Merry Christmas (for the Wealthy): Part 2
Above, a group of Young Republicans / future Corporate Monopolists, stealing Christmas for themselves. By cartoonist A.B. Walker, in Life magazine, December 5, 1912.
Class Warfare and the Transfer of Wealth continued in the Senate the Senate this weekend. I.e., Senate Republicans did the bidding of their millionaire bosses — pressing further the Rich’s warfare against the Middle Class and Poor, taking money away from the majority of Americans, to give it to the most Wealthy (some of whom were responsible for our current Great Depression II). They are doing this, by insisting upon the U.S. borrowing 700 billion dollars to give an extra tax break (above the one which we all receive, including them) to those making a quarter-million dollars or more (after their deductions/ expenses). A debt which everyone, including mostly those not receiving it, will later have to pay back with interest (thus, the wealth transfer, to the wealthy).
Simultaneously to demanding this unfunded 700 billion dollar Christmas Present to the Rich, Senate Republicans (along with a couple conservative Democrats-in-name-only), Republicans insist upon cutting off unemployment to those without jobs for six months or more (lost in Bush’s Depression as the result of the manipulative banking & stock market millionaire gamblers, who would receive the Republicans’ 700 billion dollar love gift). Because it would cost 12 billion dollars to do so, and is also unfunded — but since it would benefit people who can’t afford to fill Republican Party coffers, they don’t care in this case.
Unemployment payouts are used to pay essentials, pumping straight back into the U.S. economy, helping to keep this nation from falling into further Depression. Extra tax breaks for the Richest, get socked away, with some of it invested overseas, paying for the transfer of still more jobs out of the U.S., to nations overseas. Yes, when it comes to Country or preserving/ increasing their own power, it is obvious where the priorities of the Republican Party / Tea Party are…
