D. J. David B. Spins Comics-Tunes: Charlie Brown

Peanuts is one of those comic strips which has more than its share of music associated with it. I haven’t found any records yet about Blondie & Dagwood or Nancy & Sluggo, but I’ve got a boatload of Charlie Brown & Snoopy music. Much of it is pretty good!

This week’s gem is “Charlie Brown’s Kite” from the Broadway show You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown and features the singing talents of everyone’s favorite TV game show panelist Orson Bean in the role of the afore-mentioned Mr. Brown.

I have to admit I have a sentimental fondness for this album, as it was probably the third LP I ever bought and I’ve still got it. (In fact, the second LP I ever bought was also Peanuts-related and will be coming up on a future Tuesday.)

An incredibly obscure, Marvel Comics-inspired record is coming up next Tuesday. Be here!
