This Day in Arf History: Jim Steranko’s Birthday

When writing about cartoonists it’s sometimes hard to think of just the right adjective to describe them and their art. With Jim Steranko, though, it’s a no-brainer. Steranko owns “coolest”! Below is one of the pieces of art by Steranko in Clean Cartoonists’ Dirty Drawings. Happy 69th birthday, Jim! You and your art are def the COOLEST!

Hey! Dirk over at the indispensible comics news blog, Journalista raises a good question when he linked to this post this morning (Dirk links to the Arf Lovers blog easily ten times more than any other blogger for which I’m deeply grateful). Anywho, Dirk asks if this is Bat Girl or Marvel Girl. Anybody know?, I’ve wondered myself.

Hey! Hey! Have you ordered your copy of “Clean Cartoonists’ Dirty Drawings”? The regular edition is pictured just below. Click there to order. If you want one of the special Limited Editions with 16 extra pages, a signed, illustrated bookplate and the gorgeous Dean Yeagle cover scroll down to the November 2nd post to find the simple ordering info. There only a few copies left of the Limited Edition so hurry!
