Merry Apocalyptic Christmas!

Well, I don’t suppose I’ll ever have a better excuse than a supposed Mayan Apocalypse near Christmas Eve, to run this post-Apocalyptic Christmas tale from 1988. (Let’s hope not!)

Anyway, from the one-shot Comico Christmas Special, with cover by Dave Stevens, art by Steve Rude, Al Williamson, and Brett Blevins, and story by Yours Truly (sometimes known as The Reviled One, depending on your bent this fine World’s End), I give you, “Traditions Everlasting”.

Loved your run on Swamp Thing, Mr. Wheeler, and #88 is one of my favorite Swamp Thing issues. You are a great researcher and writer.

In High School I’d skip class on whichever day the newest issue of Swamp Thing came out. I’d rush to the local antique store (“Something Old, Something New”) and pick up my Swamp Thing and then head to the top floor of our local department store and read your Swamp Thing on sofas my family could never afford. Very fond memories of reading your fantastic Quest for the Elementals arc while sitting most comfortably.

I’ve promised my daughter that when she’s old enough she can read my Swamp Thing collection and I know she’ll enjoy your run as well.

Yes, I went to an antique shop to pick up the latest issue of Swamp Thing. They were the only folks willing to drive into the nearest city to pickup direct edition comics.

    best,
    Robert
