Sinking of the Titanic, Day One, April 14, 1912: Cartoons Magazine Centennial, May 1912, Part 0

Every month, Cartoons Magazine gathered & reprinted cartoons from newspapers and publications in the U.S., and world-wide. This of course meant a delay, between original appearance in the papers, and their reprinting in Cartoons Magazine, which is why today’s grouping of Titanic cartoons — on this, April 14th, the 100th anniversary of the Titanic striking an iceberg — are from the May 1912 issue.

Tomorrow, on the centennial of the Titanic’s sinking beneath the waves, we’ll present a second grouping of Titanic cartoons, from the June issue.

Amongst the “name” cartoonists contributing, are W.A. Rogers and John DeMar (both above), and Nelson Harding and Ole May (below).
