Shakin’ Shakes # 343

Here’s an entire 1978 issue of Boris Karloff Tales of Mystery featuring three not bad stories, the highlight being one drawn by the Frazetta-influenced Sandy Plunkett who did far too little comics work.

The Magic Whistle once again shares some sixties panel cartoons from masters of the field including Arnold Roth and later children’s book author Syd Hoff, this time from a 1961 issue of Esquire.

EC proudly proclaimed that their Panic was the only authorized imitation of their own popular Mad. Here’s one of my favorite Panic stories, an African Queen spoof by Editor Al Feldstein and Wally Wood.

Finally today, speaking of Wally Wood, here’s an illustrated piece about Steve Ditko’s very Wood-like contribution to the 1961 Charlton magazine, Mad Monsters.
